Highpoint Academy is a registered Charter Member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), an organization for Highpoint Academy’s 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Honor Students.
MISSION and PURPOSE:
The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render community service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students. Members will be required to volunteer their services to the community, be good citizens and continuously serve as examples to the rest of the student body.
WHAT IS NJHS?
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students annually participate in activities of NHS and its middle level counterpart, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter Membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop through involvement in school activities and community service. WHO CAN JOIN HIGHPOINT’S NJHS?: Highpoint’s Middle School Students that are nominated by their Teachers (“Faculty Advisors”).
Note: Students nominated from the 6th Grade will be “provisional members” without voting rights until the second quarter of the school year.
